Hi, I'm Kai. I am 11 years old, I’m homeschooled, and I am a dancer. I like ballet because I like to do challenging things and I like working hard. I like how the boys do all the leaps and jumps and turns and they can lift the ballerinas. I want to be a professional dancer some day. It is one of my top goals and I am super excited to reach it. If I became a professional, I could do what I love every day and I could be payed to do it.
I recently have been accepted into Ballet West’s Summer Intensive. I like adventure, and the summer intensive is 6 days a week for 6 weeks and it's every day from 9am to 4pm, so that is a lot of adventure. Ballet West is a professional company. At Ballet West I can see what it is to have stricter teachers, lots of tactile cues, and tons of corrections.
Last year in Ballet West’s Less Intensive, there was a variations class where we got to do a little bit of partnering. I liked feeling what it was like dancing with girls - like doing a promenade and some of the basic things of partnering. I think this program will have even more of that. I think the Summer Intensive will help me learn what it's like to be a professional.
The camp this year costs $2,400. I have set a goal of $2,000 to help pay for the camp. Please help me reach my goal. You can donate to me right on my blog. Or contact me about washing your windows. I can also do yard work. My mom is also offering classes to raise money. And she and I are writing a cookbook that will be for sale.
Thanks for all your help making my dance dreams come true!
